DEADLINE: OCTOBER 17, 2022 —Practitioners from developing democracies and non-democratic countries can apply for the 2023-2024 Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellows Programme.
Democracy activists, journalists, civil society leaders, and scholars from around the world can apply.
Fellows will spend five months in residence at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), in Washington, D.C., to undertake independent research on democracy in a particular country or region.
Projects may focus on the political, social, economic, legal, and cultural aspects of democratic development.
Each fellow will receive a monthly stipend for living expenses, plus basic health insurance and roundtrip travel to and from Washington, D.C., at the beginning and end of the fellowship period.
Prospective applicants may apply on either the practitioner or scholarly track. Applicants on the practitioner track should be mid-career professionals while those on the scholarly track should possess a doctorate (a Ph.D., or academic equivalent) at the time of application with a proven record of publications in their field.
All applicants should demonstrate proficiency in English language.
The deadline for applications is October 17, 2022.
