Financial Times hiring West Africa Correspondent

DEADLINE: ROLLING — The Financial Times (FT) is seeking a West Africa Correspondent to lead its coverage of politics, economics, business, and social issues across nearly 20 countries in West Africa.

The correspondent, who will be based in Lagos, Nigeria, will deliver scoops, investigations, and deep features about corruption, regional politics, democracy, extremism and insurgency and geopolitics, etc. that bring clarity and authority to the FT’s global audience.

The position also spans wider West Africa, including relatively stable economies such as Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Senegal, as well as volatile states in the “coup belt.”

Candidates should be prepared for challenging reporting conditions and extensive travel across the region.

NB: Knowledge of French is preferred
