Gordon N. Fisher/JHR Journalism Fellowship for journalists from Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa

DEADLINE: MARCH 31, 2025 — The Gordon N. Fisher/JHR Journalism Fellowship supports a mid-career journalist from the Middle East or Sub-Saharan Africa.

The successful candidate for this journalism fellowship can enroll in any graduate or undergraduate courses at the University of Toronto and have access to its facilities.

The academic programme typically combines general education with concentration in at least two courses; one course must be taken in full and all assignments completed.

To obtain the maximum benefit, the successful candidates agree to refrain from all professional work, including writing and broadcasting, during the period of the journalism fellowship.

The fellowship covers a monthly stipend, all university fees, travel expenses and accommodation.

The deadline for applications is March 31, 2025.
