Journalists can apply for GRID-Arendal grants to investigate environmental crime

DEADLINE: JANUARY 22, 2021 — GRID-Arendal is offering grants to investigative journalists worldwide to report environmental crime in developing countries.

Four grant recipients will each receive 25,000 Norwegian kronor (approximately €2,300).

Journalists can submit proposals on a variety of media platforms, including print, online, audio, video, and multimedia projects.

Applicants can also submit proposals for data journalism, data visualization, and open source intelligence (OSINT) journalism.

All projects must be published in English, but it would be an added advantage if projects are published in one or more additional languages.

Projects that involve travel to indigenous, isolated, or vulnerable communities will not be funded.

Applicants must be professional journalists or a freelancer with a record of publishing work in respected outlets.

Application materials must be written in English.

Budgets must be expressed in Norwegian kroner.

The deadline for applications is midnight Central European Time (CET) on January 22, 2021.

Successful applicants will be contacted by February 15, 2021 while grants will be awarded in the same month.
