Mongabay seeks video pitches on environmental stories

Mongabay seeks investigations editor to lead cross-border environmental reporting

Mongabay’s Global team invites experienced video journalists, producers, cinematographers, editors and animators to submit pitches for environmental video stories.

The call is open for three categories: Features (5–6 minute solutions-oriented, character-led documentaries), Short News (1–3 minute vertical videos for social platforms) and Selects, which showcase unique perspectives, exclusive access or underreported environmental stories.

Applicants are encouraged to submit projects in the pitch, research or pre-production stage, with proposals clearly outlining the narrative, key characters, production approach, shot list, timeline and budget within a maximum of 500 words.

Mongabay welcomes submissions in English and several other languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, French, Bahasa Indonesia and Khmer, and selected projects will receive editorial guidance to ensure consistency with Mongabay’s visual style and editorial standards.
