Senior Journalist Team Manager needed at BBC Africa

DEADLINE: MAY 3, 2021— British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Africa seeks a Senior Journalist Team Manager to join its digital hub in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Team Manager will lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary digital journalism team made up of news journalists, designers, software developers and social media specialists.

The team works across 12 African language services including English, Amharic, Tigrinya, Afaan Oromo, Swahili, Somali, French, Great Lakes, Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa.

The aim is to create original and innovative content, new forms of digital storytelling and journalism that reaches underserved audiences, including young and female audiences.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a senior journalistic role with in-depth knowledge of African news and international current affairs.

Applicant must have full command of written and spoken English.

Interested applicant must be experienced in either visual journalism, medium and long-form digital video production and features and investigations.
