
DEADLINE: MAY 15, 2025 — For its upcoming issue, The Liberalist, seeks essays on the theme, “The Governance Gab: What African Governments Won’t Tell You.”
The Liberalist will pay $100 for every accepted essay.
The theme for the upcoming issue aims to expose the untold truths, the uncomfortable facts and the everyday realities hidden behind official narratives.
Interested applicants can submit pitches for well-told feature stories or in-depth analysis that help readers understand why systems aren’t working and highlight what’s working but rarely acknowledged.
African journalists, writers, researchers and analysts as well as non-Africans with deep knowledge of Africa’s socio-economic and political governance can send their pitches.
To pitch, send a 300-word pitch, a short bio and two writing samples.
The deadline to pitch is May 15, 2025.
