DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 20, 2022 —Toward Freedom seeks a resourceful and experienced Africa Editorial Consultant to ramp up its coverage of the continent.
The opportunity, which is for an editorial consultant within Africa or in the Diaspora, will be undertaken between October 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022.
The Africa Editorial Consultant would help establish a remote Africa Bureau by recruiting journalists who understand TF’s orientation.
The ideal candidate would have significant experience editing stories and managing reporters across the continent.
Applicants must have at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in journalism, preferably with experience editing and managing journalists.
Fluency in English is required, but facility with other languages, such as Arabic, French or Swahili, are a plus.
The successful candidate will receive $1,000 for 50 hours per month for 3 months.
