
DEADLINE: AUGUST 30, 2026 — Applications are open for the AfricaNenda Foundation’s training programme for journalists covering payment systems, digital payments, digital finance and financial inclusion in African countries.
African journalists who are passionate about telling stronger, evidence-based stories about digital payments and financial inclusion can apply.
This training will cover:
- Understanding inclusive instant payment systems in Africa
- Digital wallets, mobile money, and other payment channels
- Interoperability and cross-border payments
- Regulation governance and policy
- Fraud, data privacy, consumer protection
Where funding is available, AfricaNenda Foundation may also offer limited reporting grants for selected in-depth or cross-border stories.
Applications are open to journalists in all African countries. However, the organisation encourages applications from female journalists and journalists based in South Sudan, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Rwanda, Cape Verde and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) countries – Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
The deadline for applications is August 30, 2026.
