AFP is hiring a fact-checking journalist

DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 22, 2023 — The Agence France-Presse (AFP) wants an English-language journalist to join its Lagos bureau as part of the international fact-checking team.

Applicants must have strong digital investigation skills and must easily navigate online and digital disinformation.

The fact-checking journalist will cover online misinformation in Nigeria and also support fact-checkers in other bureaus in Africa and beyond.

AFP seeks an agile journalist who can work in a fast-paced multimedia newsroom and meet tight deadlines, as well as collaborate as part of a global team.

While it is compulsory for the journalist to have native-level English, knowledge of local languages and/or French /Arabic/ Spanish would be an advantage.

The deadline for applications is September 22, 2023.
