DEADLINE: OCTOBER 10, 2025 — HumAngle Foundation is now accepting applications for the Strengthening Community Journalism and Human Rights Advocacy (SCOJA) Fellowship.
The fellowship is aimed at equipping grassroots journalists and advocates across Northern Nigeria to produce accountability-focused, community-driven reporting.
It targets journalists and civic advocates based in Benue, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Kaduna, and Kano states as fellows will undergo a 3-day in-state training (in Kaduna, Plateau, or Borno), followed by a 6-month post-training period during which they will produce at least 3 reports and lead local advocacy initiatives.
Training modules cover topics such as human rights and advocacy, digital and physical safety, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) reporting, investigative journalism, climate change storytelling, conflict-sensitive reporting, inclusive storytelling, and the fight against misinformation.
