DEADLINE: JANUARY 6, 2022— The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering travel grants for journalists interested in covering biodiversity conferences in 2023.
EJN will award scholarships of up to US$2,500 each.
Through this opportunity, journalists from around the world can cover biodiversity-related conferences and negotiations for their home audiences.
Eligible conferences may include, but are not limited to International Congress for Conservation Biology; 3rd Global Soil Biodiversity Conference; EcoSummit; and Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation, and One Forest Summit.
Budget proposals can include economy-class airfare, accommodation, meals, travel insurance, visa costs, mandatory COVID-19 testing and transportation costs for journalists to attend the conference of their choosing.
Applicants must be professional journalists from established media houses in low- or middle-income countries. Women, Indigenous journalists and early-career journalists are encouraged to apply.
The journalists must have previous experience reporting on environmental issues.
The deadline for applications is January 6, 2023.
