DEADLINE: OCTOBER 25, 2021 —The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) seeks a Senior Journalist to join its Disinformation Unit in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Disinformation Unit aims to tackle fake news and produce high-impact and original journalism.
The senior journalist will oversee systematic tracking of the spread of disinformation across Africa’s digital platforms.
The ideal candidate must have proven experience of leading an editorial team in a dispersed operation and of making sound judgements on sensitive editorial issues.
Applicants must have excellent Pidgin and English writing, sub-editing, and speaking skills. Fluency in one of the other West African languages (Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba) is beneficial.
The opportunity is a fixed-term contract/attachment until 31/03/2022.
