DEADLINE: OCTOBER 30, 2021 —The Spark Grant Initiative (SGI) seeks to fund works that enhance science journalism locally and globally.
Running under the auspices of the WFSJ, the program will showcase the results of the chosen projects as part of next year’s World Conference of Science Journalists in Medellín, Colombia.
Individual projects are eligible for grants of up to US$20,000.
Eligible applicants must be:
✓ An individual member of one of the WFSJ’s 67 member associations and working with independent media as a staff employee or freelance journalist
✓ A group made up of such members OR
✓ A member association
Proposals must be made in English, but projects can be conducted and presented in another language.
The deadline for submission of proposals is October 30th, 2021.
