DEADLINE: ROLLING — Mongabay, an award-winning environmental science and conservation news organisation, is hiring an Investigative Researcher and Reporter.
The Investigative Researcher and Reporter will be responsible for fact-checking articles prior to publication and producing an average of two news stories per month published in English on the priority topics of Mongabay’s Investigations Desk, including monitoring of natural resource industries, effectiveness of environmental governance, tracing commodity supply chains, and threats to environmental defenders.
Applicants should have three or more years of experience working as investigative journalists. An ability to articulate an investigative methodology is ideal.
Knowledge of and familiarity with conservation and environmental issues is essential, particularly awareness of agribusiness and extractive industries related topics is preferred.
Also required of the applicants are excellent research skills, experience in collaborative, cross-border investigative journalism projects, exceptional written and verbal communication skill in English and access to high-speed Internet, among others.
Mongabay aims to offer competitive pay rates that will attract, retain, and motivate full-time staff. Applicants are to submit a pay range when applying.
