DEADLINE: JANUARY 25, 2021 — Training consultant, with a comprehensive understanding of Gender and Journalism issues relevant to Africa, can apply at African Women in Media (AWiM).
This project is supported by Fojo Media Institute and will compose of two courses.
The program aims to establish a network of women journalist with critical skills for gender-sensitive reporting and developing stories on women’s rights issues in Africa.
The course named, “Reporting on women’s rights” will focus on the key concepts of gender-sensitive journalism and emphasise the progress, protection, and promotion of women’s rights in the newsroom.
The training will cover issues such as the impact of gender inequality, anti-discrimination, gender stereotypes, women’s rights, gender sensitive language among others.
The successful applicant will collaborate with internal project department to identify training needs and develop training materials.
The total duration of preparing and final delivery of the training package is 1 month spread over 2 months from the date of signing of the contract.
Interested applicants must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, journalism, education or a related discipline.
Applicants must also be skilled in developing digital media and online content for training and course delivery.
Applicants must possess a native or high level of professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
