
DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 12, 2025— The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), in partnership with Co-Develop, is receiving applications for the third cohort of the Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Journalism Fellowship Programme.
Launched in 2023, the DPI Journalism Fellowship is designed to build a network of informed journalists equipped with the knowledge and skills to report on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and Digital Public Goods (DPGs).
The programme aims to boost public access to information, foster citizen engagement, and encourage more robust debate on digital policy development and implementation across West Africa.
This third cohort is exclusive to Nigerian journalists and seeks to increase public awareness, stimulate national debate, and encourage inclusivity in reporting on DPI and DPGs.
The fellowship will run from October 2025 to March 2026 (six months) and each fellow is required to produce and publish at least six impactful stories on DPI/DPGs during the fellowship.
It will also offer a monthly stipend of US$250 for the first three months and reporting grants of up to US$300 per story while the partner newsrooms will receive US$1000 support under the DPI/DPGs Newsroom Partnership Programme.
The top-performing fellows will also receive travle grants to attend international training or convenings on DPI/DPGs
To apply, applicants must provide a 350-word statement of interest; a CV with two referees; a statement of support from the applicant’s media organisation and a copy of their valid national ID.
